After BJP, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday came in support of scraping of the four-year undergraduate (FYUG) course system in the Delhi university.
"We will withdraw the four-year undergraduate system in the Delhi University which was devised in an undemocratic manner," AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal said on Friday while releasing party''s manifesto at his Tilak Road residence.
Incidentally, the BJP has also promised scrapping of the FYUG programme in its manifesto on the basis that it wasted a precious year of the students, which was released yesterday.
The four-year course is also being opposed by the student and teacher''s groups in the varsity.
Kejriwal added that his party would strive to upgrade the level of education provided in government schools and bring it at par with that of private schools.
More ITIs and vocational training institutes would be opened.
"Accountability would also be fixed on teachers to ensure good results," he said.
