The second selection list for 2018 MBBS and BDS courses can be found at the official website of the Director of Medical Education and Research (DMER).

While the students can check the second allotment list online, the first allotment or selection list was published on July 4.

How to check the second selection list for 2018 MBBS and BDS course?

The simple steps to check second selection list for 2018 MBBS and BDS courses as follows:
Step 1: Visit dmer.org. 
Step 2: Click on 'NEET-UG-2018- Second Selection List for MBBS/ BDS Courses' option.
Step 3: A PDF file mentioning names of successful candidates will pop up. 

The DMER will conduct mop-up rounds separately for MBBS and BDS admissions.  

Why the counselling process delayed?
The second counselling process was delayed due to a ruling by the Madras High Court, which the Supreme Court later overturned and subsequently the process of counselling was restarted.

History of DMER
The Office of The Surgeon General of Maharashtra state was seperated on 1st May 1970, into two independent directorates namely The Directorate of Medical Education and Research & The Directorate of Health Services.

Directorate of Medical Education and Research supervises the working of 42 institutions including Medical and Dental Colleges, Teaching Hospitals and Health Units under its purview in order to achieve optimum academic standards.Promotion of research in instituitions is encourages. Despite existing financial constraints, efforts are made to provide maximum facilities required for students' education(Under Graduate, Post Graduate, Super Specialities), hospital services and research.

The Directorate of Medical Education and Research controls and regulates the administration of 11 Government Medical colleges and Hospitals along with Urban & Rural Health centres attached to them. 
It also regulates 3 Government Dental colleges and Hospitals. 

The Directorate supervises the Medical Education i.e.Under Graduate , Post Graduate and Super Specialisation.It also co-ordinates the Research activities in Fundamental Research , Applied Research and Operational Research in the Institutions under its control and through Out-reach Services. 

This enables the Government to improve Health Status of the people in the society.

Note: 
1. Last Date of joining the respective college: 18/08/2018 upto 5 pm(Excluding 15.08.2018).

 2. Last Date to fill the Status Retention Form at College: 18/08/2018 upto 5 pm(Excluding 15.08.2018).

 3. Candidate should submit all the original documents and pay requisite fees in the selected college within the stipulated time; failing
 which this selection stands cancel.

 4. Admitting Institute will verify the documents and ascertain eligibility of the candidates as per the NEET(UG)-2018 brochure.

 5. Admission to PWD Quota seats are subject to outcome of Court Case at Mumbai High Court Nagpur Bench in WP No. 4450/2018.

 6. Candidate(s) who have passed SSC from Outside of Maharashtra, have been deleted from the list as per the judgement of Hon’ble High Court Mumbai, in WP No. 2393 of 2017 and other petitions.
