ICAI to launch new curriculum in 2016
Keeping in mind the international job market for Indian Chartered Accountants, Institute of Chartered Accountant of India (ICAI) is preparing a new curriculum, to be launched in 2016, ICAI officials said on Monday.

"There is plenty of opportunity for our CAs in foreign countries. Our new curriculum will help them in getting foreign jobs," ICAI president, K Raghu, said here while inaugurating the newly constructed CA branch building.

We are preparing a new curriculum which would be global and modern. It will help our CAs to compete globally. It will also help them to build careers in foreign countries. New curriculum will be launched in 2016," he said.

He said that with boosting economy and development across all sectors in the country, demand for CAs from India is on the rise.

Presently, 2.40 lakh CAs are registered with ICAI, while around 8.47 lakh students are pursuing the course at ICAI's 147 branches spread all over the country, Raghu added.

He also said that ICAI has joined hands with several campaigns of the Centre, including Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Jan Dhan Yojna.

The new building is spread across 30,000 sq feet and is built at a cost of Rs 20 crore, Raghu added.
