Girls outshine boys in Class 12 CBSE exams
Girls have again outshone boys in the Central Board of Secondary EducationClass 12 examinations, the results of which were declared on Thursday.

Girls have recorded a pass percentage of 88.52 per cent, while boys have a pass per centage of 78.27 per cent.

"The difference between the pass per centage of girls and boys is 10.25 per cent, with the girls doing much better," CBSE public relations officer Rama Sharma said.

The overall pass per centage for 2014 — 82.66 per cent — recorded a marginal increase of 0.5 per cent over last year's 82.10 per cent.

The highest pass per centage, 94.26 per cent, was from Thiruvananthapuram.

"Delhi's pass per centage is 86.78 per cent," Sharma added.

The CBSE Thursday announced the results for Delhi and Dehradun regions, and six other regions a day earlier.

CBSE is the national board of education for public and private schools and conducts final examinations for Class 10 and 12.

The board had declared the results for Class 10 examinations on May 20.
