NEET 2022: Registrations for National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test 2022 (NEET 2022) are underway. Application window for the same will remain open till May 6. Candidates can proceed to fill the application forms on the official website of NEET at neet.nta.nic.in.

The NEET 2022 exam for admission to undergraduate courses in medical stream will be conducted on July 17, 2022. Candidates must take note of the guidelines that will apply, in case two or more candidates secure the same marks in NEET.

Notably, National Testing Agency, the official examination conducting body for NEET UG 2022 exam has revised its tie breaking policy to determine the rank of those candidates who end up securing equal marks in the exam. The revised tie breaking policy rules are mentioned below.

NEET UG 2022: Tie breaking criteria
  1. In case of a tie, the first priority will be given to that candidate who secures the highest marks in Biology section of NEET exam 2022.
  2. This will be followed by the candidate obtaining the higher marks in the Chemistry section.
  3. Candidates who end up getting higher marks in Physics section will be given priority.
  4. If the tie is not resolved, the candidate who possesses the least proportion of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in all subjects of NEET 2022 will be prioritised.
  5. That candidate who possesses the least proportion of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Biology section of NEET 2022 will be given priority.
  6. The candidate who possesses the least proportion of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in the Chemistry section of NEET 2022 will be prioritised.
  7. Candidates who possess the least proportion of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Physics Section of NEET 2022 will be given priority.
  8. If the tie still persists, the candidate older in age will be prioritised.
  9. If the tie still stands unresolved, application number in the ascending order will be considered.
