Constable recruitment test cancelled after paper leak report
Written test for recruitment of constables in Odisha police slated for Sunday was cancelled following reports about question paper leak, prompting the authorities to order a Crime Branch probe into the episode.

A fresh examination would be conducted, said Amrit Mohan Prasad, Chairman of State Selection Board of Odisha police, which is conducting the test.

Fresh examination date would be published through advertisement in the media, Prasad said adding the notice would also be available on the websites of Odisha Police and State Staff Selection Board.

The examination was cancelled after leak of question papers was reported from some places.

Meanwhile, it was decided that the Crime Branch of police would investigate into the alleged leak of question paper, a senior police officer said.

The decision for a crime branch probe was taken at a high level meeting convened by DGP Sanjiv Marik after reports were received from several places about the sale of question papers of the test, he said.

The last-minute cancellation of test caused anger and resentment among a large number of candidates who had travelled long distances to reach the centres.
