CBSE all set to conduct NET Exam
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is all set to conduct the UGC-NET exam. The final consent on conducting this examination has been given in a meeting held by committee constituted for conducting exam.

The scheduled exam of UGC-NET to be held in December will be conducted by CBSE.

The committee constituted will co-ordinate with CBSE on every aspect of conducting exams. The decision was taken at the meeting of the full commission. If all goes as per schedule, the next NET examination in December will be held under CBSE’s watch.

The Committee has given the final consent on September 22 to conduct the examination.

The inclusion of the test from this year will make the board the biggest exam conducting body, with the number of CBSE candidates set to cross 65 lakh in a year.

For CBSE, this will be a first as the Board has till now conducted examinations only for secondary and school-leaving students. The minimum qualification for NET is post-graduation. The UGC will share its resource persons with CBSE to set the question papers in 80 subjects.

In January, the apex court had asked the commission to submit its report on the status of these institutions to the Human Resource Development Ministry by July 31.
