Kerala Topper Sarang Saves Six Lives Even After Death

A Class 10 topper who tragically lost his life in a road accident before the official declaration of results in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, has left behind a remarkable legacy by donating his organs, thereby saving the lives of six patients.

Bineesh Kumar and Rajanish, the grieving parents of 16-year-old BR Sarang, made the noble decision to donate their son's organs despite their immeasurable loss.

Sarang, a diligent student at Government Boys HSS in Attingal, met with the accident on May 6 and subsequently succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment. Shockingly, he passed away on Wednesday morning, just moments before the announcement of the SSLC results, in which he had achieved a remarkable full A+ grade without any assistance of grace marks.

During the heartfelt press conference held on Friday, the State's General Education Minister, V Sivankutty, became visibly emotional when delivering the SSLC results. The minister couldn't hold back tears as he mentioned Sarang, who had recently passed away, yet had achieved the top grade.

"The class X student Sarang, who tragically lost his life in an accident in Thiruvananthapuram, has secured a full A+ grade in all subjects without the need for grace marks," Sivankutty solemnly announced.

He further emphasized that the family's courageous decision to donate Sarang's organs would serve as an inspiration for the broader society to engage in acts of social service and altruism.

The unfortunate accident occurred near the Kunanthukonam bridge in Vadakkottukav, while Sarang was traveling in an autorickshaw with his mother, resulting in critical injuries that would ultimately claim his young life.

Despite the immense grief and sorrow experienced by Sarang's family, their selfless act of organ donation will leave an indelible impact, ensuring that the lives of six individuals are extended through the gift of life. Sarang's memory will forever be cherished, and his remarkable achievements, both academically and in his noble act of organ donation, will continue to inspire generations to come.

Kerala mourns the loss of a brilliant young mind, whose compassionate spirit and exceptional academic prowess were tragically cut short. However, Sarang's legacy will endure, reminding us all of the profound impact that an individual can make through acts of selflessness and generosity.
