Mobile video streaming network Vuclip on Tuesday announced the opening of its first research and development (R&D) centre in India and third globally.
The California-based firm, that claims to be the world's largest independent mobile video and media company,said it will hire about 100 engineers from India in the next one year.
"This is Vuclip's first R&D centre in India and its third globally, with the other two located in Silicon Valley and Beijing," the company said in a statement.
This 15,000 square-foot centre includes a unique mobile lab supporting 8,500 different mobile devices from over 200 manufacturers, it added.

On choosing Pune as the R&D destination, Vuclip CEO and Founder Nickhil Jakatdar said : "The technology and consumer demands for mobile video are rapidly evolving and we need sharp minds and nimble feet as we innovate."
