Emphasizing on quality education, President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday said Higher Education sector has a crucial role in national development and there should be no room for intolerance and hatred in educational institutes.
“Conversation and dialogue re part of our ethos and life. Universities and higher education institutions are the best place for a free exchange of views,” said Prez Mukherjee, while addressing a special convocation of Mumbai University.
While the President conferred Honorary Doctor of Law to renowned scientist M S Swaminathan, he also received the first postal stamp released postal stamp released on the occasion of the university completing 160 years this year.
