Effective goal setting for students

In order to achieve, you must have a target. Goal setting helps student realize what and how much exactly they want to achieve. It allows the student to have a pin point focus to improve their performance and this also instills positivity in them. Setting up a goal, is also an art. Here are some tips on effective goal setting for the students:

Be Precise and accurate

The goals should be clear and precise. The goals should be backed by the time line, the process of achieving it, and the amount of it. All these details must be mentioned clearly. Goal set for an indefinite period of time is never met.

Be practical

Do not set impractical goals. By impractical, it is meant that the goals which you feel are way too high for you and are too difficult to be achieved. These type of goals should not be concocted. If you still want to aim for something too high, you can break one big goal into smaller goals, this will be a much better idea because it will lessen the disappointment and will help you realize your capabilities without wasting much of your time.

Do not set too many goals at a time

Setting too many goals at the same time will not allow you to concentrate on any. Start with 2 or 3 maximum at a time as it will keep you more focused and dedicated.

Set short goals

Setting up a goal for a longer duration becomes hazy and casual. The student must set shorter goals and once he achieves them, he may formulate another. This will give him a sense of accomplishment and a greater confidence.
