CBSE withdraws elective, vocational subjects form class XII syllabus

New Delhi

Citing low-enrolment issues, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has dropped seven elective and 34 vocational subjects form class XII syllabus.

CBSE made the announcement on its official website.

“Considering very low enrolment, the subjects (as in the list below) are withdrawn with effect from the session 2017-18,” read the notice on www.cbse.nic.in

The notice pointed out that schools are advised not offer these subjects at the Senior Secondary level from the forthcoming session of 201-18.

However, the students pursuing these subjects currently in class XI shall continue with them in class XII in the session 2017-18 and shall appear in the same subject in class XII examinations as per the Senior Secondary Curriculum for the session 2017-18.
