In order to conduct hassle free National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2017, the CBSE will launch a mobile app for candidates to locate the examination centre.

“A mobile app has also been developed to help the aspirants locate the nearest test venue,” said HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar.

According to reports, nearly 12 lakh students will appear for NEET 2017.

While World Health Organisation (WHO) report pointed out staggering 70% of Indian rural population has minimal access to health care, parliamentary standing committee on health repeatedly raised concerns about vacant positions of doctors and healthcare workers in rural areas.

The Medical Council of India has also decided to remove age restriction for candidates appearing for NEET 2017.

"The oversight committee felt such limitations will reduce the number of doctors in the country. The Union Health Ministry agreed and suggested recommendation to us. We have passed it," said MCI vice-president Dr CV Bhirmanandham.
