CBSE gives permission to diabetic students to have snacks mid exam

Expressing concerns about health of the students, the Central Board of Secondary Education has given permission to diabetic students to have snacks during the class X and XII board exams.

The decision comes after Delhi Diabetes Research Centre Chairperson Dr Ashok Jhingan met the board officials said a study has found that diabetic students have light snack after two hours to prevent sugar level and leave the exam hall an hour early.

“These children need insulin haf an hour before eating, which means between 6:30 am and 7:30 am. Without snack between 9 am and 10 am, their sugar level could drop,” said Dr Jhingan.
