Odisha matriculate exam  register record pass percentage
A record 73.11 percentage of students numbering around 5,14,590 passed the Matriculation Examination-2013 conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha.

The results of the examinations that were held between February 25 and March 9 this year, was declared today.

 School and Mass Education minister Rabinarayan Nanda releasing the result booklets at Cuttack congratulated the Board staff and all the teachers of the state for making a sincere effort and declaring the Matriculation results ahead of all other Boards in the country.

 “The reforms made in the Matriculation examinations in the State have started yielding results and we shall continue in this endeavour to ensure that the sanctity of the examination is retained while relieving the exam pressure on students,” the Minister said.

 Statistics of the results indicate that as many as 1,56,097 students have passed in first division and 1,81,263 students made it in second division while 1,77, 230 students passed the examination in third division.

 Besides results of 1175 students were kept withheld for some reasons and the Board officials informed that results of these students would be made public within seven days.

Similarly, results of 8440 students were not announced on the day as they were booked under Malpractice for adopting unfair means during the examination.

 While the Board made a commendable effort to announce the results in record time, some students however, complain of faulty evaluation, tabulation and uploading marks in the computer as result sheets of some promising students indicate zero mark in some subjects.

 When the same was brought to the notice of the BSE President D P Nanda, he acknowledged them and said all such complaints would be addressed within three days and no student would be allowed to suffer for no fault of theirs.

 The result statistics further reveal that among the districts, the students of Balasore have recorded higher pass percentage (86.97) while the students of Nuapada have fared poorly registering only 51.38 pass percentage.
