Gujarat University To End Online Centralized Admission Process
Centralized Admission Process - PC : Hanover
Gujarat University (GU) is all set to abolish the centralized admission for the postgraduate courses.

While the decision was taken by a review committee formed by the varsity, the syndicate which meet on Thursday decided that the centralized admission was a time-consuming exercise.

The committee will also examine the proposal of reducing the examination timing to two hours and reduce the number of question in the paper.

“We observed that we had to do three to four admission rounds to fill in the seats. This caused unnecessary delay, leaving fewer days for the first semester classes. Can we speed up the admission process if we follow decentralised admission process where colleges give admission using the online system?,” GU Vice Chancellor Himanshu Pandya was quoted saying.

However, the varsity has proposed to start two postgraduate courses in sports which included fitness, diet among others.
