IIHMR offers courses to students in Madhya Pradesh
With an aim to overcome the shortage of trained and qualified hospital and health managers in the country, International Institute of Health Management Research (IIHMR), Delhi on Thursday offered its courses to the students of Madhya Pradesh.

"There is an acute shortage of trained and qualified hospital and health managers in the country. Our programme is designed to meet this need and give students the skills to effectively lead in today''s changing global environment," IIHMR Dean Dr Ashok Agrawal told reporters here.

The institute offers two-year full-time Post Graduate Diploma programmes in Hospital and Health Management (PGDHM), which was approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), he said.

According to Agrawal, the health management education system in India has undergone dramatic changes since independence. There is still a lot of scope of improvement and lot remains to be done to highlight the challenges and future opportunities for health management services.

There is a wide gap between demand and supply for trained health care administrators to work for hopsitals and other health care provider organisations, he said.
